The Golden Rules of Hand Tool Safety 1. Use the Right Tool for the Job: Never use a tool for a purpose it wasn't designed for. Using a screwdriver as a chisel or a wrench as a hammer is a primary cause of accidents. 2. Inspect Tools Before Use: Always check for damage. Look for cracks, chips, loose handles, mushroomed heads, or worn jaws. A damaged tool must be tagged and removed from service immediately. 3.
